This is the weather the shepherd shuns,
And so do I,
When beeches drip in browns and duns,
And thresh and plye,
And hill hid tides throb, throe on throe,
And meadow rivulets overfloe,
And drops in gate bars hang in a row,
And Rooks in families homeward go,
And so do I.

Very hot virtually no breeze, about 90f. Temperature was supposed to be down on yesterday by several degrees but they seem to have miscalculated. Some high thin cloud about most of the day, but
strangely didnt seem to diminish brightness of sun until just before sunset. Many corn fields cleared around here, even wheat not all that much standing wheat left. Farmers seem to have made the most of the previous week of hot dry weather and completed over half of the harvest in the space of about ten days.
